This Privacy & Data Protection Notice (“Notice”) explains how MakeVids AI (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal data in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act of Singapore (PDPA). While primarily governed by Singapore law, it also aligns with global privacy best practices.
A. Personal Data We Collect
“Customer” refers to individuals who:
- Contact us to inquire about our services
- Use our services as students, users, or members
“Personal data” means any data about a user that can identify them, directly or indirectly.
Examples of data we may collect:
- Full name, email, phone number, address
- Nationality, gender, birthdate
- ID details (NRIC, passport, etc.)
- Employment and education information
B. Collection, Use & Disclosure
We only collect personal data if:
- You (or your authorized representative) consented and were informed of the purpose
- Collection is required by law or permitted under PDPA
We may use your personal data to:
- Provide services you’ve requested
- Verify your identity
- Maintain records and platform safety
- Respond to feedback or complaints
- Help community managers connect with their members
- Combine data for a better experience
- Process payments securely
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
- Notify you of updates, alerts, or admin messages
We may share your data with:
- Our team and authorized community managers
- Third-party service providers helping us operate the platform
- Law enforcement or authorities as required
Even if your relationship with us ends, your data may be retained briefly to fulfill remaining obligations.
C. Withdrawing Consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting our Data Protection Officer (DPO) via email.
After your request, we may need up to 14 business days to process it. Note that withdrawing consent may affect our ability to continue providing you with services.
D. Access & Correction Requests
You can:
- Request a copy of your personal data we hold
- Request corrections to keep your information accurate
Please email our DPO. We may charge a reasonable fee for access requests and respond within 14 business days (or 30 days if additional time is needed).
Note: Teacher or trainer comments and grades are not subject to correction as they reflect opinions, not factual inaccuracies.
E. How We Protect Your Data
We use safeguards such as:
- Encryption
- Restricted access on a need-to-know basis
- Secure hosting services
Note: “MakeVids AI does not share any user data obtained from Google with third-party tools, including AI models.”
Although we take reasonable steps, no system is 100% secure. We continue to improve our security practices.
F. Keeping Data Accurate
You are responsible for ensuring your information is up to date. Please inform us of changes via email.
G. Data Retention & Storage
We retain your data only as long as needed for legal or operational purposes.
When no longer needed, data will be securely deleted or anonymized within 6 months.
Some data may be stored or processed outside Singapore. We ensure such data is protected at a level comparable to the PDPA.
